I am going to use Tuscany Sun for my March Mini Madness. The ones on the left are the discards and the ones on the right are going to be my project. You can barely see my project design on the right and my template on top of it. I laid it all out and numbered them but now I am not sure that is the layout I want. Sometimes I just have to let an idea roll around for a few days before I do it.
The fabric rolls below are going to be part of my Giveaway for March 19th National Quilting Day. I am giving away a fat quarter bundle of Calico Days from Riley Blake. I am thinking I may give away a surprise box to a second winner which will include some Island Batiks like the ones in the picture. So leave a comment you don't want to miss out.
I'm glad I didn't have to pick which fabrics to use as they are all so pretty. Can't wait to see what design you have waiting in the wings that uses the half hexigon template but I'm sure it's going to be amazing. Rina
ReplyDeleteBatiks just speak to me, I love the color gradations and the often subtle patternings. I picked up a half hexi template several years back but have yet to use it. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your mini with all those gorgeous batiks! What fun it must be when a box arrives from Island Batiks.
ReplyDeletewhoever created batiks oh so many years ago was a genius! Love them!
ReplyDeleteAs I have said many times " I have never met a batik I didn't like" (but I really love the Island Batiks!)
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are beautiful. I have just felt my first Island Batiks and am amazed by their softness. Have fun sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love batiks. My LQS loves them too and carries about 1,000 bolts of batiks.

ReplyDeleteLetting ideas marinate is a great way to think about a design. I love fabric and Island Batiks are definitely some of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteOh how nice! I'll be helping in a crafting class at church on National Quilting day. Of course, I'll be quilting, as my craft;)
