I love Sundays

I love Sundays because I get to rest and relax. Makes it so I can make it through another week at work.

Jury Duty lasted a week and it seemed like it took forever to deliberate but now it is over and I have tons of work to catch up on. The first day back it took me all day to go through the stuff in my in basket at work. I haven't done much at home either. My kids and grandkids were here over the weekend so I spent time playing with the grandkids, they wont be little forever and I am just getting more creaky every day.

I participate in a block lotto at the local quilt store and I have won a few times, one set of blocks were not my style and I didn't have any ideas on how to use them, so I gave them to one of my daughters and this is the quilt she came up with. She is making it for a friend that loves it. She left it for me to quilt. Don't you think she did a good job?

Well hopefully this will be a quiet week and I will find time to do something fun. Enjoy February and I will be having a giveaway, so check back soon.

Jury Duty

I have had Jury Duty since last Thursday, it was suppose to be done today but I will be surprised if we get done on Wednesday. I missed a doctors appointment which I had already rescheduled once, on Friday. Tomorrow I miss a meeting out of town for work. Besides the fact, that at work we are trying to close out the books for 2010, with lots of work for me to catch up on when I get back. I don't mind doing my civic duty but it is the dragging on that is killing me.

Oh well, on to better things. I have been plodding along on the quilt that I started a couple of weeks ago. I have all the blocks pieced and now to square them up and put sashing around them.

Here are the rows from a round robin that I have been participating in for the last year. I just got it in the mail today and the rows are amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice. I can't believe how cute it turned out, better than I expected or deserved.

New Fabric and New Store Design

Well surprise of all surprises. I thought my order for Christmas Fabric got cancelled in October. Well just look at what showed up on my door step today. Only one bolt but hey better late than never. You can buy it now and get a jump start on the holidays. A Panel is only $4.25. It is made by Blank Quilting and it is prettier in person.

I finally figured out how to get the new logo on the store but I didn't figure out how to get INCHWORM FABRICS with it. I tried editing the picture and adding a text box but it was to small and the background was black and I couldn't figure out how to fix either of those problems. So for now if you are not on the home page there is no name. Hummmm but there is one big Inchworm so maybe that will give you a hint where you are.

I changed the template for the whole website. Do you remember that scene in the cartoon Sleeping Beauty (I think that is the one maybe it was a different Disney movie) where the 2 fairy godmothers keep changing the color of her dress. Well if you had been around my house tonight that is what you would have seen coming from my chimney as I was changing the template. NO Pink, No Blue, No Pink, No Blue. Well anyway it was fun and I think I like the way it looks now, at least for a little while. You should pop on over and see if you like what I have done. You could leave me a comment, if you have some suggestions that might help.
Thanks,

New Signature

This is a test to see if my new signature works. I got busy talking on the phone tonight that I haven't done any sewing. So that the night wouldn't be a total waste I decided to see if I could get a signature on here. So we will see if it works. Barbs and Margarets looked so nice I had to try it also.

Winner Of January's Giveaway

Well it is time to pick a winner for the January Giveaway. So many nice people to choose from. Drum roll please, I would ask for my assistant to bring me the winning envelope but all my assistants grew up and moved away, alas I have to do everything myself these days. No slave labor, no interruptions, no complaints. Hey what am I moaning about, that sounds pretty sweet doesn't it. Hummmmmmm depends on the day.

Well Sharon of Dancing thru Threads has won the prize. Just email me your address. Thank you, thank you to everyone that entered. I loved hearing from you and knowing that there are people out there that take time to comment. This time of year can be so depressing and you have cheered me up. Thanks again and come again.

Valentine Mug Rug

A couple of years ago I taught a class and we made these hot mats. Well I have a few kits still so I decided that they would make cute mug rugs, so instead of working on my other project I got side tracked (side tracked is good) and made this tonight. I think I am going to take it to work and put my water bottle on it. Don't you think it will perk up my cubicle? It will at least make me smile. (I know someone loves me enough to make me a gift for valentines day.)

TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY

Yea for 2011. New Year, new projects. The slate is clean so to speak. I can start on those Christmas presents early. Be all organized and ready when December rolls around. Hummmm.............I believe I have heard that before but oh well, this could be the year, right?

Well I think this year deserves a monthly giveaway, yes siree. So here is the one for January. I am going to giveaway a 1/2 Jelly roll of valentine fabric, (what is a half jelly roll you ask? it has 22 2.5 inch strips, 2 strips of 11 colors, Barb called it half the calories, of course fabric isn't fattening except to your sewing room;), and the pattern Big Bloomer. I thought if you won it in January you might have time to make something in February. All you have to do is just leave a comment, nothing more, I wanted to start the year out easy for you and me. Good luck, I will draw the lucky winner Sunday night the 9th and announce the winner next Monday.

If you would like one of these sweet confections you can buy them for the special low price of $10 under precuts in the store till the end of the month. They are the deal of the month.
