Mothers DAY

I was out of town for Mothers Day but when I got home I had a package waiting for me from the oldest daughter and this is what was in it. She said she was having a hard time keeping it secret. What a great surprise.

So now the other daughters are saying that she is the favorite daughter because she sent me this quilt but I think she just got tired of me whining. I have been whining that I didn't have a blue jean quilt to take camping for more years than I can count. I love love love it. The green is corduroy and she put fleece on the back. It isnt to heavy but it will be nice and warm for chilly camping nights. It has already been used. One of the little granddaughters (4 years old) claimed it for her blanket for the nights she was here.

Way Down South........

I was in Louisiana for a week. I went with just a carry on and came home with a carry on and two suit cases. Do you want to know what I brought home? One suit case had fabric for making clothes. My mom was getting rid of all her dress making fabric. She is into quilting and not making clothing so my daughters scored because I am not into making clothes much these days either. The other suit case had 60 lbs of quilting fabric.

You see in Arkansas there is a little town called Batesville and in this little town there is a wholesale fabric store called Marshalls. My sister and mother and I had to have some fabric therapy so we drove the 3 hours to get there and boy did we enjoy our day. The car was a little heavier going home but hey our wallets were lighter.

I bought two bundles of tone on tone. The brights and one of whites that I am going to be adding to the store. I also bought some fabric for a project that I am working on.
Jennifer and I are working on a Sedona Star and this is the beginnings of mine.

I am not sure that I like the black. I was thinking maybe I should do another with white instead. What do you think? Black or white. I have to decide now because there will be no taking it out later.
