Giveaway winner

I feel like I have been gone forever. Daughter #4 had a 10lb 11oz baby girl on Tuesday and I went to help out and got home last night. She can't get internet, she lives in a very small town in southeastern Washington. Did I say very small, my cell phone doesn't work there either? It is good to be back. I think I was having computer withdrawals. How did we ever live before the internet?

Well lets get down to business. I choose a winner using the old
Random Integer Generator
Here are your random numbers:
30
Timestamp: 2011-10-31 01:37:40 UTC

And this is what number 30, Jen said:

"Oooh! I love your Charlotte! So pretty! I've had my eye on this book, I love the patterns in it! I would choose either Ruby or Northcote from your store. Those are just so pretty! thanks for the great giveaway!"

So Jen you win the 3 Times the charm and a charm pack. It is a fun book with cute projects. Thank you to everyone that entered. Stay tuned for Novembers giveaway.

Pillow

Another gift... this time a pillow... This one was a killer... it looked so cute and easy and I have been wanting to make it for a really long time, just never did and I needed a really nice thank you for a lady who watched my daughter for three months.. it was a mess but mostly because my sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was watching the baby so my wonderful neighbor helped us out and they were so very good to her. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

Anyway, this little project is a combination of several different things... sticthing, buttons, machine quilting, applique... and I have to admit it took longer than I wanted it to, but it turned out oh so cute!! it has its flaws, but I did pick out several of the really big ones... anyway, I might have to make another one, I like it so much. It turned out to be the size of a regular pillow. Had I know I would have just boughten a pillow and put in it instead of making the pillow and stuffing it with polyfil....

The top....

The bottom....

The whole thing....

Don't you just love projects that turn out great!! and the fact it was not super easy makes a completed project even that much more gratifying or am I just crazy??

Happy Sewing....

More Bags....

More bags, but not any Halloween Bags... went to store to buy fabric and the line was longer than long and with three kids who have been officially uninvited to go shopping in tow... I was done waiting and put the fabric back and walked out of the store empty handed.....

I made these two bags instead.. the pink and black was first

and it was not quite tall enough so I made another the green one which is taller. I love them. It is corduroy, they turned out nice and now I do not want to use.. my daughter the bag lady wants them real bad... so the bag craze is still going strong here.

Give-o-give away

Give, sang the inch worm, give-o-give, give-o-give, give sang the inch worm as it hurried down the hill. There should be some pumpkins on that hill but alas, there are none, so

First on the list is the My Memories giveaway. The winner is Sunni @Love Affair with my Brother,She said... " I'm now following you. I'm number 333. Is that good luck?." Well guess what it was good luck and so you will win a free download of My Memories Software. I am excited for you and hope to see some great things that you create.

Next on my list is this book 3 Time the Charm by Me & My Sister Designs. It uses precut charm packs to make quick and easy little quilts for home decor and baby blankets. The seven quilt patterns were each sewn three times using different fabric collections; for a total of 21 quilts to help the quilter visualize her quilt in the charm pack she chooses. The piecing is fast and simple! Perfect for table toppers; wall hangings; and baby shower gifts! 7 projects for quilting: Amanda; Bertha; Charlotte; Dora; Emma; Fiona; and Greta.

I made Charlotte using the Ruby Charm Pack from Moda. I used two charm packs and white background to make a baby size quilt. I was thrilled it turned out so cute.

Next item of business, I loved it and I want to share. I am going to give away the book and your choice of charm pack from my store. So hop on over and see which one you like. Even if you don't win, the charm packs are a steal of a deal at $7. So all you have to do is leave a comment and let me know what charm pack tickles your fancy. If you are feeling chatty you can let me know what you like about precuts or if you even like them.

using my memories to make sticthing patterns

You have to try this... it is so easy to make your own stitching patterns using resources like digital memories.... what fun.

Using the fonts from the scrap booking programs like my memories digital (to get more for your money) and various pictures (depending some of the picture from the digital program would work as well) you can make your own stitching patterns. Here are two that I have been working on.... I have a couple more but they are not done. And well the one here is a work in progress--- notice how lazy I am.. I should be putting tape around the edges so that they do not fray.

This one I had a picture of a family and I added another kid and then used some of the fonts to write the letters below..... the possibilities are endless. I did have to do some hand drawing but it was okay.

This is just one that is finished stitching -- If I was to do this one again I would change the font size... it looked good until I tried to stitch it....

This is also a sneak peak at a quilt I am making for my daughter's birthday.... I have till April and hopefully I will get it done.

Don't forget to visit their website.... what fun. you could also use it to help make a memory quilt... hum that is something I might have to do....

GIVEAWAY "My Memory Suite..."

"My Memories Suite" is a digital scrap booking program which allows you to scrap faster than cutting and gluing everything into an album. It is easy to use and very straight forward. I enjoyed making a birth announcement and a scrapbook page, which were both very simple and took very little time. Depending on how you embellish your pages will determine how much time it will take. The pages made with this software can be saved as jpeg files which allows you to email your creations to your family and friends, or go have them printed. You can make calendars, scrapbook layouts, photo books, cards, videos, you name it! Just let your imagination do the driving.

I was asked to try out this software and then to sponsor a giveaway for My Memories Suite. I know it isn't quilting but I know we all have other lives when we aren't tied to our sewing machines. We have family and friends we want to keep pictures of and we have cards we need to send and a life beyond our addiction but we want to get back to our sewing as soon as we can and this program is fast and easy. So I am giving away a free download of their software package a $40 value. I will use the random number generator and pick a winner on Friday.

All you have to do to enter the giveaway is go to www.MyMemories.com site and choose a favorite digital paper pack or layout, then comment here telling me which ones you chose.
For an extra chance to win you could become a follower of their blog at http://blog.mymemories.com/
and follow my blog for an extra chance. That will give you three chances.

Sassy Skirt

A few months back I was making sassy skirts. I lent the pattern to a co-worker and she made a skirt for her youngest daughter (the dark one) and her 9 year old made a skirt (the green one) and won best of show at the county fair. I have been wanting to share these pictures with you for awhile. I think they are so cute along with all the other entries in the county fair that you see hanging on the walls. I believe Moda is coming out with a line of fabric called Sassy in January to use with the skirt pattern. Also, just as a side note, I do have some new charm packs available, Ruby being one that is fairly popular. You should go check it out. They are only $7.
