Crayon Table Runner GiveAway

The lucky winner is Robin from(rsislandcrafts). I will email you the pattern, it is in PDF format. Hope you enjoy it.

End of July

One of my sons went to Hawaii on business and he brought me some fabric while there. They sure are pretty and I will have to find something special to make out of them.

Can you believe it, July is over. As a child I always figured when July was over that was pretty much the end of summer even though back in those days school didn't start till September. I guess it doesn't really matter, I have to go to work every day no matter what the month.

Well it does mean the end of the store wide sale and the end of the give away for the table runner pattern.

Sale Ends in 3 Days

Well the end of July is drawing to a close. Where does the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday and it was January. The year is half over and I don't feel like it should be.

Only 3 more days for the Inchworm Fabric Sale. Thank you to everyone and the great support you are. I am my sister Barb's biggest fan, she has been lots of help and support. There just isn't enough time in my day to do everything that needs to be done.

We should be getting new fabric any day. We are going to try to add something new every couple of weeks. Don't want to break the bank or get the hubby grumpy. He is great support also.

Charity

Five more pillowcases for Project Linus. It has been a long day and that is about all I can handle for one evening. This is for Love Bug Studio giveaway.

CRAYON RUNNER PATTERN GIVEAWAY

Yes, that is right, Inchworm Fabrics is giving away this Table runner pattern by Jean Dabell. You all are familiar with her from my sister's blog "Bejeweled quilts", her and her husband are serving a mission over in Amerika Samoa. She has been doing a lot of quilting at night in her spare time. Barbara has encouraged her to make patterns from her designs and so she has. This pattern is just one of three that she has made and I am sure there are more to come.

Jean has so graciously allowed me to give this pattern away. It is pdf. file so it will be instant gratification to the winner. You can also purchase this pattern and her two other ones at my online store. All three patterns are pdf. file.

Thanks for dropping by.

You will get one entry for a comment
One if you are a follower
One if you post this on your blog.

This giveaway will go until August 1st. Good luck!

Giveaway

I am sure everyone is waiting with baited breath to know who the winner of the giveaway is. Drumroll please................... It is Needled Mom. I am waiting for her address and I will be shipping it off. It was so much fun to read your comments and I am ordering new fabrics using some of your suggestions. Thanks so much to everyone for commenting. Wish everyone could be winners.

I entered a contest over at Love Bug Studios for an Accuquilt Go. It seems like everyone is getting or giving one away. I would love to have one so I have been entering every chance I get. My sister Barb is helping and she is putting me to shame because she has done a ton of pillow cases. So here is my measly contribution. Only excuse is that I work and yesterday I was out of town. One pillowcase and one flannel unquilted baby blanket. But there will be more so stay tuned.

...............I forgot to tell everyone about her contest. Here it is in a nutshell:
How? Well, I'm going to run this contest through a point system. It's very simple. You make something for charity and donate it, and you will earn points toward the GO. The person with the most points at the end of the contest will be bestowed with the prize. Hence the title of my giveaway... Give a Little, Win a GO!

Mail

Does everyone love to get mail, like I do? Well last week this is what I got in the mail from Jennifer. It was the LoveU line and the animal alphabet line that everyone has been asking about.

Here is a picture of our fat quarters. You know what they say, 'a picture is worth a thousand words.

Also to let you know that the cut off for the giveaway is tonight and thanks for all the suggestions. We are going to use them to improve the selection of fabrics. It looks like more solids or tonals are in order. I just love fabric and it is so hard to choose which ones to buy, I think I want them all, don't you think because I love them I should have them? ;)

Have a great weekend. I will have the table runner giveaway posted tomorrow.

Giveaway

Sorry I left everyone hanging about the giveaway. When I had time to post my internet was down. Then I had a house full of family. So I was busy playing with grandkids, cooking and doing dishes. Two of my daughters and their husbands were here and put a paver sidewalk from the porch to the driveway. It looks so nice and I am excited not to have to walk on the wet grass to get to my car. They started Friday and finished Saturday evening.

Well back to the giveaway. I am going to give to the luck person a jelly roll and a turnover from Moda, from the Caroler line. I figured that Christmas will be on us before we know it and the lucky person could start a project early.

This will be the requirement: Look on the Inchworm store and come back and tell me what fabric you would like to see us sell. And for another entry you can blog about the give away and link back to this page. And for another entry if you aren't already a follower you can become one. Just remember to post three different times so when I do the random generator you will get three chances. How about if we go for a week, next Sunday. I hate to drag giveaways out to long.

Thank you to every one that comes and looks and especially comments. I love the comments.

The giveaway is officially over, thanks for all the comments, I have enjoyed all of them. I am going to use them to help me in my decisions when ordering more fabric.

Iron Cozy

I found this fabulous tutorial over at "May your bobbins always be full" , she has any more tutorials...I just know you will love them.

Now to find some heat resistant material...

Show Us Your Stash ~ Thread!

SEW MAMA SEW is having a contest:Tell us about your thread! Answer our Thread Stash Questions on your blog or in this forum thread. When you’re done, leave a link in the comments below so we can all visit and find your responses. We’ll choose two winners from the responses to each win one Amy Butler Thread Collection and one Kaffe Thread Collection. We really want to see some pretty pictures too, so be sure to include those gorgeous shots of your thread in your answers (we know you take pictures of your thread!)

* How did you select colors for your personal thread collection?
I like to buy thread collections, my favorite place is Connecting Threads.
* Do you always match the color perfectly to your project?
Well I try to match the thread but if I cant I will use white or black.
* Do you ever use contrasting thread?
Sometimes when I am quilting the project I will use contrasting or varigated which is my favorite.
* Do you use the same color in the bobbin as the upper thread?
Most of the time, except if I run out of bobbin and dont want to have to wind another.
* What if a fabric has big areas of very different colors?
Varigated works great.
* Do you have any tips or suggestions about choosing thread?
None, I just use what I like. Cotton seems to work the best in my machine.
* Can you show us a picture(s) of your thread collection?
The pictures are above.
* Do you ever buy thread because you fall in love with the color (without a particular project in mind)?
Yes I do but it isnt quite as bad as my fabric addiction.
* Do you “invest” in thread?
Well just to the extent that I want to have what I need when I need it. I dont live in town so I dont like having to make a trip just for thread.
* What types of thread do you have? (elastic, quilting, all-purpose, wool, etc.)
I have one drawer of serger thread by the cone. I have another drawer that has my cotton for quilting and the cheap stuff I use for regular sewing. I have a cabinet that houses my varigated and a jar that has my rayon thread. I have some wool that I havent tried yet. I think I even have some invisible and metallic that I dont use very often because of the frustration that it causes.

Ginger Jar Quilt

Block Party

I have been looking for an easy pattern to use up some of my stash. A friend at work her mother really likes this block for making a scrap quilt. It looks really easy and she said it was hard to goof it up. I may just try it and see. It is a four patch with scrappy strips around it. A person could make it any size and use any fabric. I am going to see what I can come up with. How about you?

New Additions

I went to Idaho last week for a new addition to the family. Isn't she cute. I spent a week and had fun with the older two kids. The drive was very long. 10 hours over and then 10 hours back. I am not as young as I used to be and boy did I feel it when I got out of the car.

But............I came home with an addition of my own.

I am now the proud owner of this internet store. Jennifer has to much to do with the new baby, full time job and two other kids, so she sent all the inventory home with me. Instead of it being in her spare bedroom it is now in my spare bedroom. These are the things I have unload but there are still boxes that need to be unloaded as soon as I have more shelves to put stuff on.

So that brings me to the good news for everyone else. In order to help Jennifer get her initial investment back, I am having a store wide sale. I am marking everything down to the bare bones. All fabric is $2.50 a 1/2 yard and all fat quarters will be $1.25. Plus free patterns, free honey buns and free shipping. So take a look
there is bound to be something you want or could use. It is all high quality quilt fabric.
Thanks for looking
