NEW FABRIC

It may not be snowing but it feels like Christmas. I just received 5 bolts of Riley Blake fabrics. They are so cute and I think they may make that little sassy skirt in the previous blog. They are out of my comfort zone but I just couldn't resist. Maybe it will help me start feeling better. I thought I was over whatever I had, it must have come back or I have something else now. It seems to be a nasty head cold.

What to do with my weekend?

I am excited for Monday to come. I have new fabric coming and it is so springy, I can hardly wait. It is from Riley Blake and if you haven't seen their fabric you will have to go look or wait till it gets here, it is awesome.

I was trying to decide what I should work on this weekend. I really need to do some spring work in the flower beds. I just want to cry, I think I may have lost the 2 new roses that I planted last year. They were so pretty and smelled so good but the winter wasn't nice. It is hard to get up the desire to do anything when they just die. I also have two blessing outfits that I need to get done. I want to finish the paver quilt that I started in January, so many things come up that I need to do. I would really like to make the following skirt for one of my granddaughters birthday. I guess I will see how I feel in the morning.

Quilts for Japan

I just saw this on another blog about quilts for Japan. I want to help even if it is only to relay the information to someone else. I will have to see what I can get done before the end of April. You can click on the Quilters Newsletter but the information is also below.

"Quilters Newsletter has long enjoyed a friendship with Patchwork Tsushin, a leading Japanese quilt magazine. So when Editor in Chief Naomi Ichikawa emailed to say her magazine is collecting comfort quilts for those impacted by the recent earthquake in Japan, we wanted to join the effort. QN will gather quilts from U.S. quiltmakers then forward them to Naomi and her staff, who will deliver them to those in need. (If you live outside the United States, email me as indicated below, and I will provide information on how you can send quilts directly to Naomi.)"

Here’s how you can be part of this important worldwide response:

• Send quilts of any size from baby to adult to:

Dana Jones
Quilters Newsletter
741 Corporate Circle, Suite A
Golden, CO 80401

• Mark your box: “Quilts for Japan.”
• Send quilts as soon as possible and no later than April 30, 2011.
• Enclose your name, address, phone number, and email address with the quilts.

If you have questions, please email Dana Jones.

You can tell where my mind is these days, babies. I have added some new things to the Inchworm store and this is two of them. Aren't they so cute. Just couldn't resist.

Sickness

I stayed home from work on Friday because I picked something up(I think it may be the flu) on our travels last weekend. So I spent most of the weekend in bed; I did go to work today even though I wasn't feeling 100%). But I did manage to quilt this baby quilt that daughter #1 made for a gift. It has minkee on the back and surprising enough it didn't give me any trouble stretching when I quilted it.

They are pretty!!!! I love the batiks because they don't show a right and wrong side! I also love how they work up in a quilt.

So Ladies email me your address and I will send you your fat quarters. Congrats to both of you and thank you to everyone who entered. Have a great weekend and keep on sewing.
