Green with envy for Spring!

Java Batiks....green

These are great for the spring.

As we look out the windows and see everything starting to grow again and turn green we can find inspiration for a beautiful quilt made with these green batiks.

They have a hint of other colors just as spring does.

Once you've found that beautiful quilt pattern, hop on over to inchworm fabrics store and grab your green batiks. Then off you go on a spring adventure.

Happy quilting ya'll!😃

Pinwheels gone wild

Here's quilt number two that I quilted this weekend.
Pinwheels gone wild!

The focus fabric was a dinosaur print.
This was a custom quilt made for a friend.
When I say "pinwheels gone wild" I mean putting this one together was an adventure. I thought..."I got this I don't need a pattern it's pinwheels what could go wrong?"...
Well there ended up being a few roadblocks and stumbles in this adventure, but it turned out alright.
I learned a lot about quilting with this one. Pinwheels are fairly simple to construct but there is definitely a right and wrong way to put them together or things just don't line up right.
So after meandering through this adventure I'm ready for something new.
It always feels good to finish a project and to see the results.

Happy quilting ya'll!!😃

Harry Potter Pavers

What a fabulous weekend!

Quilting at Mom's was a great time! She is so wonderful, patient, and kind.
I spent the day Saturday quilting two quilts.
First up is this Harry Potter Pavers quilt.

I saw a picture of this pattern online made with blue and white fabric and decided to make it with this Harry Potter novelty fabric.  I didn't have a pattern to go by but because it's a simple design it was easy to figure out the size of blocks that I needed.
It went together quickly, too. Which is always a priority on my list.

Happy sewing!

March Giveaway

You know Spring is here with the erratic swings between cold, rain and sunshine. But it is official with daylight savings time. Yea, there will be more daylight at the end of the work day but it will sure be hard to get up at 5:30 am for the next week or so.

I have started another birthday quilt but it is still in the pieces stage. I do have one ready for the quilt machine but it was in use by Christine yesterday, she did two twin size quilts but I will let her blog about them.

I am going to add 2 yards (60X72) of design wall fabric to the giveaway. It has 2 inch grid lines and allows you to lay out your quilt blocks without pins. I forgot to mention that you have to leave a comment with a valid email so you can be contacted. You can leave a comment on each blog and that will increase your chances.

Have a great week.

February Finishes and a Giveaway for March

Birthday Quilts

I was able to finish 3 quilts in February and one so far in March. One of the February quilts still needs to be bound. I am trying to make a quilt for each one of the grand-kids this year, not huge ones but one they can snuggle in while watching TV.  There are 23 kids and so far I have done 5 quilts. I don't have any more birthdays till April but it has 4, so maybe I can get ahead. The 3 yard quilt patterns from Donna Robertson work great, except I have been making them a little larger than her pattern. You can find her pattern books at Inchwormfabrics.

March is National Quilt Month

"Since 1992, the third Saturday of March has been set aside as National Quilting Day. According to the Quilt Alliance, this observance was inspired by the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society and their “Quilter’s Day Out” celebration of quilt making in the state. The National Quilting Association voted to make the day a national event at their show in 1991."

What would a celebration be without a giveaway. I will start my giveaway with a fat quarter bundle of 5 tone on tone cream  fabrics and add something new each week and I will pick a winner or winners at the end of the month.

Bundle of Natural Tone on Tone-Natural Tone on tone from EE Schneck by Galaxy bundle of five yards

Another color option for the 3 yrd quilt

Flowers and ladybugs who could go wrong.

I made this 3 yard quilt because the pattern looked so easy. It was!!

The pattern book has many others that are just as easy. It's a great book to have on the shelf. Especially when you need a qift and have a free weekend. The quilts go together so quickly and they are cute when finished. Hop on over to the store website and grab your pattern book. 😃

I just got the borders on it and now its ready to be quilted.
