I do have a few sewing projects underway, and you might get to see them if I ever get them close to being finished. But mom (Jeanette) asked me to blog, and I enjoy string more than fabric...so today you are being treated to my knitting endeavors.
I am a big fan of knit and crocheted toys....and some of my absolute favorite patterns are these knit dolls made by a lady out of England at the Flutterby Patch. You can get her patterns at Dollyetime on Etsy and Ravelry.
Needless to say, I have probably made around ten of her dolls now. And I get better everytime I make one, and I have to say they get cuter each time. Here is the latest dolly I made for my daughter's birthday last week. The hair is a little messy, but she has already been loved a little by my daughter.
This doll was made from the Little Nellie Nutkins Pattern. I still need to make the dolls cute sweater and little bag, but I ran out of time before my daughters birthday. Maybe she will get them this week....or it might be for Christmas. We'll see how much time I get. Anyway, check out the Flutterby Patch. She has lots of cute patterns if you like to make knit toys, and her patterns are very well written and easy to follow. Even beginning knitters could tackle one.
Enjoy,
Bev

Tie Die
The kids have been begging since my sister helped them tie dye bags this summer to tie dye something. So, I finally gave in (not looking forward to the mess) and we tie dyed some onies for my sisters babies. They are not perfect but they are cute!

A Finish!!! by Jennifer
I'm so excited about this quilt being done!!! YIPPIE!! and I love it too. Sure wish I could keep it.
Here are a few pictures... the further away you get from it the better the quilting looks! I quilted this on my small sewing machine and it was fun, but I have to admit that there were times I wanted to cry, it was not easy for me. Now I'm thinking about doing another one on my sewing machine.... am I crazy??? I just love knowing I did the whole thing all by myself-- WOW!! who would have ever thought I could do this??? not me a few years ago... I've come a long way and have a long way to go!!
What do you think???

Lily's Quilt
This is Lily and she is trying to pretend that she doesn't see me taking her picture. She is four and of course smart as a whip, the cutiest and the best grandaughter. But of course so are all the rest of my grandkids.
This is Lily's quilt that her mother made for her birthday and I quilted it, a little late but she now has a new quilt for her big girl bed. It is made with a layer cake from Riley Blake called Sweet Cakes and she used a teal marble fabric as the background. I am not sure what pattern she used but it is just too cute.
I have had some exceedingly frustrating weeks where I couldn't get my computer to work. I did everything that I knew how to do to clean off virus' and stuff. Then my husband came and did some more and I was ready to buy a new one. Then for some reason I decided to reload java script and low and behold it works, it works, it works as I skip around the room. It still has some issues but at least I am not getting the page not found message any more. So annoying and I was becoming a raving maniac. I don't know how we ever lived without the internet. Maybe just maybe I am addicted but I will deny it in a court of law.
We have been doing apple juice. Last weekend we did about 26 gallons and this weekend we did 50 gallons. I do believe I am tired. We even squeezed in 13 jars of apple pie filling.
Have a restful Sunday. I know I am looking forward to putting my feet up and doing nothing all day, except going to church and maybe a nap but I think I may be able to handle that much.

A few projects-- unfortunatly none are done
Jeanette/Mom has not had Internet at her house for that last two weeks and has asked me to blog... I have a couple of unfinished project to show you that were supposed to be done by now.... I feel so bad as the retirement party came and went and now the wedding has come and gone...
but I am super excited about the projects I have to show...
| This is a quilt a group of ladies tied for a friends daughter who got married this weekend.-- Love the model :) |

| maroon jean quilt top I made for a friend at work- she finished it for her Dad. I have always wanted to make a Chevron quilt-- I made these blocks twice a big as the tutorial I found on the net. |
So there they are.. my unfinished but close projects (okay three are actually done). Maybe by this next weekend I will have some others done. I forgot that I have also been helping my mother in-law make a quilt for my nephew who is going to receive his Eagle Scout. The quilt is nice, it has the Boy Scout emblem in the center and a border of patches. Red, White and Blue are the colors. What a treasure for him and a reminder of his hard work to obtain his Eagle. The next time I see it, I will try to remember to take a picture.
Enjoy!

Over the River
Mary Walker of Texas hasn't sent me her email so I can send her the fat quarters. Where oh Where are you Mary?
I don't know where the day has gone. Today is the first Saturday in a long time that I had to do what I wanted and I ended up weeding flower beds. While my quilt projects sat untouched in the house waiting for me. The following is my current project that I have spent most of my free time last week working on. It is the stitchery Over the River that I started last year for Christmas. I am wanting to finish for this year. There is one more border of flying geese that goes on it and then of course quilting. I am thinking of doing the 2 dimensional flying geese but I can't decide if I should use white or the light green for the geese background. Hummmm!!

Labor Day Giveaway winner!!
Labor day give away. I am so behind on picking a winner. We went to southern Utah and then we had kids and grandkids here till yesterday. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I know it is now the next weekend, so you pick which one you want to consider nice;) Here is a small recap of our drive.
We drove through western Idaho.
Then through southern Idaho to Twin falls.
Then through Nevada, we lived in Wells Nevada for about 11 years and I just love it there. Here is a picture of the Humbolt mountain range.
The we had a longggg stretch of road to Ely Nevada. There is nothing for 2 hours but road and sage brush.
Here is where we entered Utah up into the mountains by Paneca Nevada.

It took us 20 hours to do over 800 miles coming home. We had a trailer with a tractor on the back. And it was raining cats and dogs from Enterprise Utah to Twin Falls and then after that the weather was nice. It was so good to get home.
The winner of the giveaway is Mary Walker of Texas. So send me your address and I will send you the two fq bundles.
