The finished project. Looks good if you don't look to close. What can you expect for her second time machine quilting, right? Like they say practise, practise practise!!!!!!!!

Over the River--- I'm Done!!

I'm DONE!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's finally done and I love it and I'm pretty sure my Mother-in-law will LOVE IT TOO!!!.

I tried my hand at machine quilting on my machine-- let's just say if I had had more time I would've unpicked a bunch of stuff because I wanted to do so much better than I did... but alias as my Husband said-- it's your first time- give yourself a break. It's wonderful.

I quilted these really neat snowflakes on the pieced stars- they are way cute... I forgot to take pictures and now the quilt is in a box and wrapped at my Mother-in-laws- so after she opens it I will take some close up photos, for now these will have to do. ( I think my camera is getting tired.)

New Fabric, Giveaway, Sale

I just got in some beautiful fabric from Kona bay and I needed a quick gift for coworkers so this is what I came up with. The fabric line is Sanctuary and is a border fabric. It took 1 yard of the border fabric and 1/2 yard of the backing, to make 2 table toppers. I just did a simple quilting following the design and then every two inches. It was so quick and easy and turned out very nice.

I used this ruler from Missouri Star Quilt Company called the large simple wedge ruler. Eight 45 degree

angles cut out of this blue Sanctuary fabric by Kona Bay.

 The back was out of this tonal white with gold etchings from the same line.

 I am going to giveaway to one lucky winner a yard of the blue and 1/2 yard of the white. Just leave a comment on what you are looking forward to in the New Year. I will chose a winner next Sunday.

Crayon rolls

These are crayon rolls that I made my preschoolers for Christmas. They were super easy and a lot of fun to make. The best part was handing them to the children and seeing them get excited.

I made 16 of these out of my flannel scraps. Great project to help use up scrap fabric and they turn out so cute. They make keeping crayons organized and in one place.

I got this pattern off of the Moda Bake Shop- it is the Jungle Baby Quilt Pattern by Jessica Kelly. I loved hers and decide to make one... it ended-up being bigger than a baby quilt... so it is more of a Toddler blanket. My two year loves it.... she loves the animals. This is for a special friend who had a baby 11 years after her last one--- OOPPs!! but he is so cute!!

I'm glad to be done!! Thanks Mom for quilting it!

I should have chosen a winner for the giveaway yesterday but I was out of town for part of the weekend and was lazy when I got home. Well not lazy I guess busy doing Christmas stuff and I have to be honest I finished reading a Christmas novel that I had started. This weekend I was at the youngest daughters house and she had to make a run into town for car parts. Snowflakes and Stars

We've been busy crafting with the kids making snowflake ornaments out of beads and stars out of paper. Here are just a few of the snowflakes and stars. The kids had fun and I had fun (not sure John had any fun... crafting is really not his first choice) until the glitter somehow ended up all and I me ALL over the house. These are for their teachers and the people John and I work with. It's always fun to make something together and give away to those we care about. Now we are baking up a storm-- so far 20 loaves of friendship bread.... We've already eaten one which is not helping get it done.
