4 Fleece blankets for project Linus

Well that is it for me tonight. I am beat. Win or lose I would like to thank everyone that helped with the donations, it was awesome. I dont believe any of us thought it would be such hard work. Greg and his friends did a great job and they were tough competition and if he wins I would like to congratulate him on all his hard work and I know he will enjoy the Go just as much as I would have. Have fun Greg creating more quilts. Thanks again to everyone, especially Accuquilt for donating the Go for this contest.

Her husband can do amazing things with wood and metal. (I want the family discount)....

I feel so naughy on this Sunday morning.....hear me laughing...

Next Saturday?

These pears look so good:

but they didn't come from our pear tree, we have 2 lone pears:

I bought them at the Farmers market this morning and they will probably be ready next weekend. No quilting again, I think I am going to have withdrawals, don't know if I can handle 3 Saturdays in a row. It is like having a craving for chocolate and not a piece to be found in the house and it is to far to drive to town to get one. Well no quilting is like that. Remember that commercial, feet dont fail me now, well I think mine are getting ready to revolt and run away. So if you see two pass you running down the road.......................catch them and send them home.

Another fine Saturday

Another Saturday gone with out getting much quilting done but this is what we did:

Neal, one of our kids came over and we helped him bottle up some things to take home with him. Yesterday my husband and him bottled 24 pints of vegetable soup. Today we did 23 pints of french style green beans, 12 pints of stewed tomatoes, and 20 quart bags of corn, thus the picture of the freezer my husband had already put them in to get them freezing so Neal can take them home with him tomorrow.

Boy, does my back and feet hurt. I love fall but I am not a spring chicken any more and canning takes it toll. It is a good thing that we only have so many jars and when they are full, we are done. Sure hate to see anything go to waste. My husband loves to garden and every year it gets bigger and bigger, and bigger (I think he is trying to kill me with food, what do you think?), hope the kids get more and more into canning so they can save me!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Long, Long, VERY long, Day

Things have been quiet on the quilting front for the last few days. I was at the fair from Wednesday to Friday. I was going to take my camera and get some shots of the quilts at the fair but forgot. There were some really pretty ones.

Today some of my children came and we went and picked 350 pounds of peaches and then we bottled 78 quarts and there is still 100lbs left to bottle. It seemed like we would never get done and we didn't today, the rest will have to wait till Monday. I am not as young as I used to be and marathon canning just about kills me. Thank heaven for extra strength tylenol. Here is a picture of what was left after they took home their 48 quarts.

Project Linus Quilt and Blanket

Here are 2 more for Project Linus, a fleece blanket and a quilt. The quilt is similar to one that I already did but if you notice the back is different. I had both of them ready to do but didn't get around to doing it. I just needed to finish the binding which I did this morning. I didn't have to go to work till 10 this morning so I decided that I had a little time to work on projects.

I still have a baby quilt for one of the new grandkids that I need to get finished but this contest has been keeping me preoccupied. It is next on my list. I am manning a booth at the fair for work for the next 3 days, so maybe I can get a few projects knocked out. Then on Saturday the girls and I are going to go pick peaches. I wish I could find some pears to pick. I am so lucky, this part of Washington has some of the best fruit in the country. Yummmmmmmmmmm.

Go Giveaway at Love Bug Studios

Here are 2 fleece blankets for project Linus. Boy did I get warm doing the pink one. It is about 80 degrees and I had that on my lap doing the fringe. I guess it could have been worse, it could have be 100, right. I love fleece and my grandkids love blankets made out of them so hopefully some needy child will love it also.
