Long, Long, VERY long, Day

Things have been quiet on the quilting front for the last few days. I was at the fair from Wednesday to Friday. I was going to take my camera and get some shots of the quilts at the fair but forgot. There were some really pretty ones.

Today some of my children came and we went and picked 350 pounds of peaches and then we bottled 78 quarts and there is still 100lbs left to bottle. It seemed like we would never get done and we didn't today, the rest will have to wait till Monday. I am not as young as I used to be and marathon canning just about kills me. Thank heaven for extra strength tylenol. Here is a picture of what was left after they took home their 48 quarts.

  1. I am so jealous! Next year when you go to get peaches, please get a box for me. I will pay you for your labor, your time, your trouble, etc. I love canned peaches. I bet, even though it was work, it was fun having your daughters there and make a happy memory. Hugs, Deanna

  2. How neat is that! Looks yummy! Good luck with winning the GO...I know how hard you are trying, and how much it would help you.
I would have loved to taste those peaches.
    Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Reminds me of my childhood! My grandparents would show up with a pickup load of peaches (or apricots or apples), and we would can what we needed and sell the rest to friends and neighbor. I can still see us all standing around the kitchen table: slipping the peels off, pitting, and stuffing jars. Hot, steamy, sweet, talking, laughing, sore muscles, a few burns--yep good memories.
