June Giveaway

Time sure flies. It has been a week since my daughter and her kids were here. She tied 2 jean quilts and we made 2 camping quilts with fabric from the line "Are We There Yet" I didn't get pictures so she will have to post them. (hint...hint)

July is just around the corner and I have just received these patriotic fabrics today. So I am going to give away a fat quarter bundle of these 7 fabrics to one lucky winner. All you need to do is post a comment about what your favorite 4th of July memory is. And if you follow you can have a second chance. I will pick a winner Saturday, so you will have time to use your prize.

I will share two memories:

I remember one year on the 4th of July when I was a kid, we were traveling and we must have timed it just right because it seemed like every town we passed through was shooting off their fireworks, it was spectacular.

My dad was in the service and there usually was a pick nick that lasted all day, maybe an air show and to top the evening off fireworks. I think the military puts on the best firework displays.

Happy Memories. I love this country and all that it stands for; Freedom, life, liberty and pursing happiness.

  1. My favorite memory was last year when we spent the 4th of July with my daughter's family in Wisconsin and we were able to spend time with our new grandaughter born on the 2nd. We will be there again this year for her 1st birthday. We live far from them in Washington State.

  3. Hi Jeanette Happy 4th to you and your family. My fondest memory is when my husband and I finally bought a house and my Dad was pretty sick at that time but we did not know how sick actually and we decided to have a BBQ with family members. Well my husband decided to go all out with the fire works and I still remember my Dad saying it was the best 4th he ever had....memories is what helps to hold families together aren't they...take care and would love to win. 4. My first date with my husband was on the 4th of July back when we were in college. His cool car (Mustang Convertible) broke down, so the date was definitely memorable. But I did see fireworks on our first date!

  5. Family bbqs are always interesting in my husband's family. They usually have one for all the holidays starting with Memorial Day and ending with Labor Day.

  6. Ice cold watermelon, hand churned vanilla ice cream with peach sauce, grilled hamburger drowning under a blue cheese mound, roasted corn on the cob and fresh thickly cut tomato. Does one sense a theme? Food! My best 4th of July memories are about family and friends gathering to chow down.

  16. Not necessarily July 4th, but I have very fond memories of watching the fireworks at DisneyWorld/Disneyland. I love how they put them to music and they all fly above the castle :)

  17. My favorite memory is just from a couple of years ago. My brother in law had a huge picnic with lots of friends and family. He put on a fireworks display with a Historical commentary about our why we celebrate July 4th. It was magnificent.

  18. My husband asked me to marry him on July 4. We were with our combined children, watching fireworks on the grass. The children were running around and playing and I was leaning back against my husband's chest; he whispered in my ear that he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and would I marry him? We just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in April.

  28. Lets see, the year I burned down the neighbors field with fireworks (not my fav) or the year that a firework landed in my lap (also not my fav)...getting the picture? I love fireworks, but, only from a DISTANCE now. When we lived at the lake, we could watch the fireworks from the AF base from our balcony. That was fun!

  30. Thank you for the lovely giveaway. Perhaps a Fourth of July quilt will be in the plans soon! My favorite Fourth was seeing fireworks over the water at my parents home. All year their small community raised funds for this, and that first time was amazing. Afterwards, we watched the Fourth of July ceremonies on tv.
