Way Down South........

I was in Louisiana for a week. I went with just a carry on and came home with a carry on and two suit cases. Do you want to know what I brought home? One suit case had fabric for making clothes. My mom was getting rid of all her dress making fabric. She is into quilting and not making clothing so my daughters scored because I am not into making clothes much these days either. The other suit case had 60 lbs of quilting fabric.

You see in Arkansas there is a little town called Batesville and in this little town there is a wholesale fabric store called Marshalls. My sister and mother and I had to have some fabric therapy so we drove the 3 hours to get there and boy did we enjoy our day. The car was a little heavier going home but hey our wallets were lighter.

I bought two bundles of tone on tone. The brights and one of whites that I am going to be adding to the store. I also bought some fabric for a project that I am working on.
Jennifer and I are working on a Sedona Star and this is the beginnings of mine.

I am not sure that I like the black. I was thinking maybe I should do another with white instead. What do you think? Black or white. I have to decide now because there will be no taking it out later.

  2. Wow! Way to score some new fabrics! :-) The brights are wonderful. And I like the blue star, but not sure about black either. I'm sure once you get going on it, it will look great! Happy sewing!

  6. I like the black. I really should have stayed and gone with you guys - I've been kicking myself ever since. I cleaned up my room yesterday just so I would have a place to put all my beautiful fabrics when they finally bring them to me. I can't wait.

  7. Nice-- go and post your sedona star block--- is this a challenge???? :) I like it, either way-- it all depends on what you want the final outcome to be. :)
