The discount will be taken automaticly when you check out.

I am giving away this layer cake from Moda called Bear Country and a book of your choice. If you win you can look on the store site and let me know what book you would like. But for an entry to win all you need to do is leave me a comment and tell me if you like to use precuts. Then for a second entry if you would like become a follower, or if you already are a follower than another comment saying so would be great. Elephant Parade

This is my current quilting project. Jennifer made this cute baby quilt using hearts for the elephants and a charm pack for the outside border. She backed it with cuddle fabric. I think it turned out very well. A quilt any baby would love to snuggle up in.

It was not without some frustration but what would life be without a few ups and downs. I have had it on my machine since the weekend. My machine was breaking the thread. I changed the tension, the needle, rethreaded, and reset the bobbin. Not sure why but I gave up and  took it off and I am going to finish the border with my regular sewing machine.

We have a pattern available if anyone is interested. I will make a kit available on Inchworm Fabrics.

Log Cabin

My Aunt Margaret is quilting my first log cabin and it happens to be her first time quilting a log cabin. She is doing a wonderful job. Please, take a minute and go over and look at the Average Quilter. Here is a picture of the quilt before I sent it (of the little one).

There are two- a small throw size and a large queen size. So far, she has the throw size almost done. I love it and I'm thinking I may have to make another log cabin... hum... after I finish some of the these other projects first.

My Day OFF!

I sure needed a day off. They don't come around often enough. There is so much I would like to do, I don't know where to start. So I decided to get some of the quilt tops that have been piling up around here, quilted so that I could send them back to their creator for binding and giving. These 3 belong to Jennifer and I believe I have at least 4 more that she has so thoughtfully contributed to my own collection of unfinished quilt tops, which I have no idea how many and don't really want to know. But alas, I am out of business for the rest of the day. I ran out of batting and it wasn't in my schedule to go to town, I live out in the country. So I guess I will have to do something constructive like, cleaning and maybe cooking. Yes, I know that there are other things more fun but.............someone needs to do it and I looked around and all my helpers have grown up and left the nest. What is with that? You just get them trained and life is good, next thing you know they are leaving like rats off a sinking ship. But someone said that they do come back but with reinforcments. Boy do I love those reinforcements.

Have a great Presidents Day.

Love U Baby Quilt

Beverly, daughter #4 designed and made this cute baby quilt using the alphabet panel "Love U" by Deb Strain for Moda. She also cut out kits and they are available for sale at the Inchworm store here. She is a stay at home mom with 4 little kids, 2 five year old twin boys and a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old girl. So I am impressed that she managed to squeeze in time to sew. She does a lot of hand work because she can sit and watch kids play but you know how it gets when you sit down to a sewing machine and turn your back on them......

Warm those you love!!

I saw the cutest hand warmers today on facebook and I just had to make some. Wow!!! were they easy as 1, 2, 3 and super cute. The kids love them.  I made these with white fabric in the middle and the valentine fabric from the inchworm shop as the main fabric. The ones I saw on facebook she did all kinds of shapes- footballs, baseballs etc.  I cut out two white hearts and two colored hearts with pinking shears and sewed them together, left a hole in the side, used a funnel and poured in some rice, sewed the hole shut and it was done. It takes about 35 seconds in the microwave to warm them up and you have some warm hands.

Happy Valentines!!

Giveawy package for Tricia

This is the surprise giveaway that I sent to Tricia in NJ. It has the book "3 Times the Charm", the pattern "Starburst", a quilt kit to make a Valentine wallhanging, a vynil project pouch, a note pad, a pocket calendar and a Benatrex charm pack.

Not much sewing going on at this house this week. I did get a quilt loaded on the quilt frame but just haven't gotten to it and the machine is just to lazy to do it by its self.

I keep wondering if it really is Feb. We had some 50 degree days last week. That is crazy weather for this side of Washington, we usually have snow on the ground. Sure makes it hard to get up and go to work when the sun is shining so nicely and it is warmish out. I feel like planting flowers. How funny is that?

Have a great week. Hug the ones you love and do something that makes you happy.
